Communicating Vessels<\/em> Communicating Vessels je kolektivn\u00ed d\u00edlo p\u011bti skladatel\u016f-interpret\u016f, kter\u00e9 vzniklo na objedn\u00e1vku festivalu Expozice nov\u00e9 hudby. Kompozice byla speci\u00e1ln\u011b koncipov\u00e1na pro jedine\u010dn\u00e9 prost\u0159ed\u00ed brn\u011bnsk\u00fdch vodojem\u016f na \u017dlut\u00e9m kopci, kter\u00e9 n\u00e1v\u0161t\u011bvn\u00edci mohli prozkoumat nejen akusticky, ale tak\u00e9 prostorov\u011b. Communicating Vessels oslavuje objekty spojen\u00e9 s vodou, kter\u00e9 jsou v ka\u017edodenn\u00edm \u017eivot\u011b tak v\u0161udyp\u0159\u00edtomn\u00e9, \u017ee je ji\u017e t\u00e9m\u011b\u0159 nevn\u00edm\u00e1me. Sklenice, hrne\u010dek, zava\u0159ova\u010dka, \u010di v\u011bdro se vyv\u00edjely velmi pomalu, ale staly se pro n\u00e1s nepostradateln\u00fdmi p\u0159edm\u011bty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tak\u00e9 vn\u00edmaj\u00edc\u00edho a mysl\u00edc\u00edho \u010dlov\u011bka m\u016f\u017eeme popsat jako n\u00e1dobu. Jeho mysl pojme nejr\u016fzn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed obsah a stejn\u011b jako u hydrostatick\u00e9ho tlaku, i u \u010dlov\u011bka nez\u00e1le\u017e\u00ed na mno\u017estv\u00ed tekutiny, ale na \u201ehloubce n\u00e1doby\u201c\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Communicating Vessels is a collective work by five composer-performers commissioned by the festival Exposition of New Music. Lasting for an hour, this acoustic experience was conceived specifically for the unique site of Brno\u2019s Water Tanks, which visitors were able to explore both acoustically and spatially. Communicating Vessels celebrates the preservation of matter in various states that have become so ubiquitous in our daily lives we hardly perceive them anymore. The drinking glass, coffee cup, jar or water bucket evolved extremely slowly yet have become indispensable objects to us. We can describe a perceiving and thinking person as a vessel \u2013 their mind can accommodate a variety of contents. As with hydrostatic pressure, with a person what matters is not the amount of liquid but \u201cthe depth of the vessel\u201c\u2026 The work was commissioned by the Exposure Festival of New Music on the occasion of the Year of Czech Music 2024.
